Comprehensive Approach
At Arahant Mental Wellness we take a comprehensive approach to your care. We utilize all the latest scientific research and technologies to guide and treat you. We often recommend genetic testing before prescribing medications to increase effectiveness and reduce the chance of side effects.
Additionally, your clinician, who prescribes your medications, will also be facilitating your talk therapy to ensure that they know you well, inside and out. We do not schedule 15 minute “med checks” because this does not provide enough time to gain a meaningful understanding of how medications are affecting you, or if there is an external factor that is playing a role in your symptoms.

Medication’s Role in Treatment
Medications can play a key role in the treatment of mental health disorders and conditions. They can reduce problematic symptoms that often affect an individual’s ability to engage in their life and feel their best. This can further pave the way for other methods of a treatment plan to be more effective. In fact, it is commonplace practice to utilize medicine in conjunction with talk and behavioral therapies, medical foods, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to optimize functioning and enhance quality of life. For example, a medication can ease symptoms of depression like lack of concentration, allowing an individual to more effectively engage in talk therapy.
